The answer is, yes if you go regularly and get the most out of the equipment!
There are alternatives however, home based workouts can be very effective if done correctly.
I have done a fair bit of research and I believe that an average exerciser can get the results and progression in the comfort of your own home.
Remember anything weighs something, whether that be a dumbbell or your own body. Force and resistance can be generated with a variety of everyday things as well.
Press up variations, body weight squats and star jumps are just a few examples of effective exercises that can be done anywhere.
So before you sign up to a fancy gym with more TV's than treadmills, think about what you could spend that money on with your new "don't leave the house" physique!
